Welcome  to a site dedicated to Kata Beach, Phuket, it is one of the more family friendly beaches and is much more peaceful than Patong Beach and does not feature a number of ugly high rise hotels common to other beach locations.  Kata Beach is typically safe for swimming and does not have any major dropoffs that create rips or strong currents and is flanked on the right side by a coral reef that runs out to Crab (Poo) Island.
